October 2007,

Aloha all,

This year has been a transformative time for me.  There are many gifts to be
 grateful for.

Early in the year “miss birdie” passed on at the age of 14+.  It is such a blessing to
have had her in my life.  Birdie’s body was buried under an apple tree at the home
of her friend Anne Carter.

The 2007 Teacher Training gathered a diverse and amazing group of people that
nudged me and pulled me to new levels of teaching!  The course was held during
the last few months at the Piku Mala property in Kula.  It is now turned over to a lovely
family with 3 young girls who are very enthusiastic to have a farm.

In August, I happily relocated to Launiupoko on the West side of Maui where I
have found the peaceful tropical climate to be ideal and I greatly enjoy living near
the ocean and numerous walking trails.

Also, in August, my mother passed on peacefully in her sleep.  She had been ill
early in the year but enjoyed some months of relief with her children and grandchildren
before moving on.  I miss her presence on this planet and have developed a new
appreciation for the role of mothering in our lives.

In May of this year I took time at an Ayurvedic retreat, Rasayana Cove, in south central
Florida for pancha karma treatment and time alone.  It was an opportunity to rejuvenate
and bring clarity to my next step.  This respite demonstrated to me the value of taking
time to go inside; it is the most rejuvenating gift we can give ourselves.  Even if it is for
only five a day, pausing to acknowledge your inner most self will open the path to the power
of Spirit.  My results inspired me to begin offering retreats for students as an opportunity to
learn how to foster this connection into their daily living.

The process of writing a book on consumption and food from the Yoga and Ayurveda
perspective continues and is in the editing stage.  It is a much larger task than I realized
and will be published very soon.  I am enjoying the journey and learning a great deal
about myself along the way.  It would not be possible without the tremendous effort of
the editors and friends, Shannon, Brenda, Dana and Vanessa.

I am continuing to work with students through private consultations and healing services.
These may be done in my home, your home or office and by telephone.  A list of options
can be found at www.MauiYogaAndAyurveda.org or by email.

The following are available to all who are interested:

  • Yearly retreats for integrating Yoga and Ayurveda into daily life

  • Teacher Training September 19 – December 10, 2008

  • Meditation and Energy Management, weekly class and private sessions

  • Ongoing workshops in Yoga and Ayurveda

  • The weekly devotional practice of 108 Sun Salutations 7 a.m. each Saturday morning,
followed by a passive asana class from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.  These classes
re held at my home in Launiupoko.  Call or email if you need directions.

A small group retreat to cultivate living in harmony is scheduled February 1-9, 2008.
The approach is individualized according to your constitution, time of life and the current
season and will include Yoga, Ayurvedic cleansing and Sadhana (spiritual practices).  Due
to some changes in available spaces on Maui the details will be provided by email later this
month and updated on this web site as soon as the location is secured.

The 2008 teacher training program will be held from February 15 - May 9 at my home in Launiupoko.
Along with satisfying the requirements for Yoga Alliance Registration and teacher certification, this
is a personalized intensive for self development.  There will be practices and learning on many
levels for your daily living as well as for teaching.  If you would like additional information email or call.

Meditation and Energy Management classes are held every Wednesday 5:30 p.m. - 6:45 p.m. in Kula
(at a student’s home) and in Launiupoko.  Email or call to check the location for the week and for
directions.  The monthly vegetarian potluck continues on the first Wednesday of each month at
6:45 p.m.  All are welcome.

Thank you so much for enriching my life with your courage to practice and grow spiritually.
May you find your joy within and express it in your life in each moment.

Many blessing and much love,
myra
